This August 2014, Baillie Architecture received an Architectural Designers New Zealand (ADNZ) Bay of Plenty/Waikato Regional award for our renovation of a 1970's concrete block house.

The purchase of this two-storied, split-level home was made with renovation in mind.

Change1970s detail into a stylish, contemporary home. Those details of decades ago included brown clinker brick interior feature walls, orange and brown vinyl, a porthole window, dark-stained beams and brown kitchen cabinetry.

“It was a very big job. Everything is new really, except for the bones of the house”.

So spectacular is the view, that it truly warranted reconfiguring the placement of rooms in this home.

  "House on Hazel".
