A Touch of Bali

Adding a little touch of ‘Bali’ to our daily lives creates a haven to soak off the stresses of the day.

The brief was to fit some home-grown, indoor / outdoor features into this new Ensuite. In some resorts in Bali, the shower space is open to the bright outdoors and the walls which line the inner sanctuary are finished in a dark but calming contrast colour.

Having a shower box which is flooded with sunlight via a narrow skylight above, interprets the outdoor feel into this kiwi bathroom.

The wall of Nero, large format tiles, mixed with streams of pebble inserts create the sanctuary feel and the link to outdoors.

Dark floor tiles the same as the wall type, skirt the room, making your eye ignore the presence of glass as the shower screen, reinforcing the open, outdoor scheme.

The life in the floor is helped with under-vanity LED lighting, partly reflected by the finish of the tile.

Job done.
